Ibiza, Spain 2017

“I took a pill in Ibiza, to show Avichi I was cool…” I wonder if Avichi will still think I am cool if I went to Ibiza and didn’t take a pill? That’s just one answer I am going to have to live without *insert shrugging girl emoji.*

The famous Ibiza. A party-animal’s dream come true. Though the islands official name is Catalan (which just reminds me of the dialect/language that is spoken in Barcelona), it’s Spanish name is Ibiza (emphasis on the ‘z’ as a ‘th’ sound).

Ibiza is an island in the Mediterranean Sea right off the east coast of Spain. It is 150 kilometres from the city of Valencia. From Almeria, we took a 4-5 hour bus ride to Valencia and then a big ship to Ibiza. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands (a community that is autonomous of Spain).

Though the nightlife is probably better than any of the other places in the world in Ibiza, there is so much more to the Island than that. Right off the coast of Ibiza is an Island called Isla de Formentera. This is a beautiful island that can be toured in about 2 hours – it is tiny.

Ibiza is a great vacation spot for those who are full of energy and want to constantly be doing something. The trip can be exhausting and just be aware that everything is extremely overpriced on the island. If you get a chance to go with a big group, it is even more fun. Like the majority of my traveling done while studying abroad, I traveled to Ibiza with ESN Almeria (the Erasmus group in the little town that I was living in).

Whether its dancing in Privilege (noted in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest club in the world with a capacity of 10,000 people), roaming the Island of Formentera or walking on the beaches of Ibiza, you are bound to have an amazing time on the island.
