Hello everyone and welcome to my world, my world through four lenses!
My name is Farah Hatoum and I am a small-town girl from the southern state of Virginia. Originally from the mountains of Lebanon, my family moved here when I was three years old. Virginia has been my home-away-from home for 19 years of my life.
I started this blog to share my experiences as an undergraduate student diving into the medical field. Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a strong passion and love for four things: travel, food, the medical field, and most importantly, LIFE.
“I have found that if you love life, life will love you back.”
Life is a journey and I am dedicating this blog to document my journey. We are constantly struggling to reach perfection, but here’s a little secret: there is no perfection. Life is a series of events and once one is completed, there is always the next.
I am currently a senior undergraduate student double majoring in Biology and Spanish, minoring in Chemistry. I aspire to become a pediatrician and work with children from all around the world. I love traveling, culture and trying new things. In the spring of 2017, I had the opportunity of living in Almería, Spain and study abroad there for 5 months. This was the best experience I have ever had and I hope that you get a little glimpse of what my life was like there.
Though the medical field is difficult and demanding, it is not impossible. Life is all about balance. It is my strongest belief that we are capable of doing anything and everything that we set our minds to. Through this blog, I hope to give insight on the process of applying to medical school, while presenting the newest data and discoveries in the field of medicine. I will also be documenting my travel experiences including food, culture, and lifestyle.
Finally, I sincerely hope that this blog will bring a smile to your face and that you’ll enjoy reading through all of my experiences. I would absolutely LOVE to hear from you all. Please make sure to share your thoughts, give feedback or provide suggestions for topics that you’d like for me to talk about. Shoot me an email through the contact page on this blog!
